ADMISSION INTO CHRIST UNION ACADEMY (CUA)
Admission to the school is not based on ethnic, religious or social grounds. Admission is recommended on the basis of educational potential or proven academic ability.
REQUIREMENTS:
Admission into CUA at any level is highly competitive and purely based on merit. The school conducts entrance examinations for prospective students each year. A prospective student must submit the following:

A completed application form obtainable at the Admission Office or downloaded Here

A photocopy of birth certificate
-
2 recently taken passport size photographs
-
A photocopy of last term’s school results from previous school

Testimonial from previous school and any other requirement stated in the Form
The Admission Office vets the submitted documents and those who are cleared are invited to write the entrance examination. Admission is offered to all candidates based on their performance and reports from previous school.
A student is refused admission only if he/she fails to show basic understanding or a lack of potential.
We may sometimes ask a student to be repeated, promoted or receive double-promotion if in our assessment it is the best option for the student.
Our recommendations will be based on what we know is the best option for the student, not necessarily what suits parents/guardian. We may also conduct an oral interview with international student as part of the overall assessment of the applicant’s admission.

Students must wear the prescribed uniform to school each day. School uniform is obtainable from the school store.
Girls should have their hair neatly braided or plaited. Hair extensions of any sort are not permitted.

ATTENDANCE TO SCHOOL
Since the dawn of time, success has always been the product of diligence; no half-hearted measures have ever taken anyone to the hilt of success. Consistent and regular attendance at school is therefore vital for success and students are expected to attend school every weekday.
As a matter of principle, absenteeism is not acceptable atCUA unless it is unavoidable. In unavoidable situations, guardians/ parents are expected to notify the school. This is to ensure that students are protected and monitored to ensure progress in teaching and learning. Students are not allowed to leave the confines of CUA for any reason at any time other than the normal scheduled time without the written permission from the Headmaster.
Registration of students takes place every morning and attendance records for each class and students are kept and reviewed at the end of each term. The school reserves the right to ask a student to withdraw from the school if attendance is found to be unsatisfactory, that is to say a cumulative total of 21 days or more in any school term.
